Ozurgeti municipality government and local civil society organizations had an exceptional opportunity participate in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, which is the regional round table on open government and democracy. The roundtable is organized by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe jointly with Open Government Partnership as part of the 2021 OGP Global Summit and Call for endorsement of new local authorities into OGP Local Programme. The online event took place on 18 February, 2022. The event brought together local decision-makers from Armenia, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to discuss sustainable strategies for national-local partnership and exchange experience on effective management to design, implement and assess OGP commitments for enhanced citizen-centered governance and better human rights protection.
Nana Tavdumadze Ozurgeti Municipality Assembly Representative and Tamar Ghlonti the founder of the Institute for Change and Innovation, the local CSO were invited as panel speakers to share the valuable experience Ozurgeti municipality has with regards to developing OGP local action plan with comprehensive co-creation process and exemplary track record of cooperation with the civil society. Illustrating successful partnership and cooperation examples shared by the speakers were interesting for the participants and attendees of the event.
